I work with clients who want to preserve photographically memorable places, times and objects they value in their lives in the form of an art memoir…a pond in autumn, a pool remembered from childhood, an island retreat, art and architecture, a view from the bridge at night, a boat and crew in competition, treasured landscape vistas…. To accomplish this, I draw on my artistic vision centered on the expressive qualities of light and shadow, composition, form and color, and their relationship to the environment.

Drawing on my work as a fine art photographer, I strive to produce classic, elegant, timeless images. In both personal and business portraiture, I look beyond the surface personality to focus on what I perceive as the core of my subject’s being. The result is that my clients see their portraits as they would like to be seen: natural, confident and comfortable with themselves.
In my documentary work, I focus on the relationship of the individual elements to their environment, in support of the goal of the assignment. I appreciate my responsibility as a documentary photographer to maintain the delicate balance between objectivity and subjectivity.
